Created for Yeshivat Maharat’s first ordination of Orthodox women, this piece quotes Bereshit 24:60 which says “Our sister, you should become a multitude.” This verse captures the desire that this class of Orthodox women clergy is the first of many. During the ceremony, the graduating women walked beneath the banner before giving their remarks to the assembled crowd. The school plans to use the piece each year as more and more women join the Orthodox clergy.
